The South Park x adidas Campus 80s “Towelie” is a whimsical collaboration between the animated television series and adidas that honors the 4/20 holiday. Released by adidas in April 2021, the South Park designed Campus 80s “Towelie” honors the show’s perpetually torched talking towel character. The design mimics Towelie’s appearance, as adidas wraps the entire upper in a hairy bluish-purple synthetic terry cloth material. The white leather Three Stripes branding on both sides is true to the original Campus 80s design. Adidas logo detailing in South Park inspired font is printed on the white leather heel tab. The two eyes on the tongue have been treated with a UV-sensitive finish, allowing them to turn bloodshot red, like Towelie’s eyes after smoking marijuana, when exposed to sunlight. The South Park x adidas Campus 80s “Towelie” was one of the most sought after 4/20 sneaker releases of 2021. Release date: April 20, 2021.
